Breaking News: NFL Owners Agree to New CBA, End of NFL Lockout Begins

Very recently media sources have reported that the NFL Owners have agreed to the new, 10-year Collective Bargaining Agreement between the league and the NFL Players Association. NFL.com has reported that the vote was passed 31-0, with Oakland abstaining from the vote. In a press conference, Roger Goodell has noted that the lockout has caused the cancellation of the Hall of Fame Game on August 7th. NFL Lockout 2011: The Same Mistakes

The NFL work stoppage is still in full effect, and is leaving those who comment on the intersections of sports, public relations and the media with no shortage of material. It would make sense – to me, at least – that the mature and prudent thing to do would be to focus on resolving the issue, whether it be at the mediation table or through courts, and keep the comments and accusations out of the media. Just don’t tell that to Drew Brees.
